Your best nights

At ALVA, we believe that a great morning starts the night before.

Deeper sleep, smoother skin, and protected hair. Our premium silk reduces friction and preserves your beauty and sleep, every night.

  • Anti-Aging

Your cotton pillowcase creates creases on your face throughout the night. Over the years, this constant friction can contribute to permanent wrinkles.

Silk significantly reduces this friction. By providing a smooth glide and locking in essential moisture, it acts as a protective shield that helps prevent nightly sleep creases from forming, helping to keep your complexion youthfully smooth and plump.

  • Skin

Cotton absorbs your night creams. Silk, however, is naturally non-absorbent, meaning your expensive skincare stays on your face, not your pillow.

Wake up to visibly more hydrated skin, zero pillow creases, and over time, fewer sleep wrinkles. Skincare experts praise silk for helping to preserve your skin’s elasticity.

  • Hair

The ultra-smooth surface of our silk allows your hair to glide effortlessly without snagging. This drastically reduces the physical friction that causes breakage, split ends, and morning bedhead.

FAQ

How do I wash my silk product?

Cycle: Use a cold or 30°C delicate, silk, or hand-wash cycle.

Detergent: Choose a gentle, bleach-free wool wash or pH-neutral liquid. Avoid regular laundry powders, enzymes, or fabric softeners, as they degrade silk fibres over time.

Protection: Turn items like pillowcases inside out and pop them into a mesh wash bag to prevent snags.

Drying: Skip the clothes dryer completely. Gently press out excess water with a clean towel (never wring), then lay it flat on an airer or hang it in the shade to dry.

How often to wash my silk product?

Pillowcases: Every 7 to 10 days to prevent the build-up of facial oils, sweat, and skincare products.

Eye Masks : Every 5 to 7 days, especially if worn with moisturisers or hair oils.

Can I use a hot cycle or a clothes dryer?

No, definitely avoid hot water and clothes dryers.

Excessive heat shrinks silk and breaks down the natural protein fibres, causing the fabric to lose its soft feel, lustrous sheen, and shape. Always stick to a cold or 30°C wash, and line-dry your silk in the shade.

Should silk be ironed?

It’s best to avoid it, as direct heat can easily damage delicate silk fibres.

Most creases drop out naturally when line-dried. If you must iron, keep the setting on low/silk, turn the item inside out, and always place a clean cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric to protect it.

Tip: Steaming your silk or simply hanging it in the bathroom while you shower is much safer.
